MailNet

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MailNet ("the Service"), an AI email assistant operated by its individual developer ("we", "us", "the operator"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What MailNet is

MailNet is an AI-powered assistant that connects to your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account, with your permission, to read, summarize, triage, draft, send, and schedule email on your behalf, guided by your instructions in a chat interface.

2. Beta status

The Service is an early-stage, experimental project provided free of charge. It may contain bugs, may behave unexpectedly, may be modified or discontinued at any time without notice, and comes with no service-level commitments of any kind. Gmail access is currently limited to approved testers while the Service undergoes Google's verification process; Google may sign testers out periodically during this phase.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. You sign in through your Google or Microsoft account; you are responsible for that account's security and for all activity that occurs through your use of the Service. You may only connect mailboxes you own or are authorized to manage.

4. Your instructions, your responsibility

The Service acts on email only at your direction and, for sensitive actions such as sending, replying, or deleting, asks for your confirmation unless you have chosen to auto-approve those actions in Settings. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before it is sent and for the consequences of messages sent, scheduled, modified, or deleted through your use of the Service.

5. AI disclaimer

The Service uses large language models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Summaries may omit important details, triage labels may be wrong, and drafts may contain errors. The Service is not a substitute for reading your own email, and no output constitutes professional, legal, financial, or medical advice.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Your API keys

You may optionally provide your own AI-provider API keys. You remain responsible for those keys, for any usage charges your provider bills you, and for complying with your provider's terms. Keys are stored encrypted and used only to serve your own requests. You can remove them at any time in Settings.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on third parties, including Google, Microsoft, AI model providers, and hosting providers. Their availability and behavior are outside our control, and their own terms govern your relationship with them. We are not responsible for third-party outages, changes, or actions.

9. Intellectual property

The Service's software, design, and branding belong to the operator. Your email content belongs to you; these Terms give us no ownership of it. Content you generate with the Service is yours to use.

10. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and revoke its access from your Google or Microsoft account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for any user at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, NOR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. AS THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, THE OPERATOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED ZERO UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD 0). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute shall be brought in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
